The Founder of this website, Yuna Zarai (Yunalis Binti Zara’ai) is a singer who was born in Alon Setar, Kedah, Malaysia. Yuna completed her secondary education at SMK USJ 4 Subang Jaya and later studied law at Universiti Teknologi Mara. During her course, she was involved in music as she used to write her own songs when she was only 14. At 19, she learned how to play the guitar and then started performing the songs she had written.
Yuna kept playing her music that helped her get a massive following in myspace before she was discovered by the indie-pop record label and management company.
In 2008 & 2009, Yuna kept releasing her song, one of which got very popular in Malaysia. This single was called “Deeper Conversation”. She then released her first studio album called “Decorate” in 2010.
In February 2011, Yuna Zarai signed a deal with Fader Label after they flew to Malaysia to convince her to sign for them. A month later, she released her debut US EP also called “Decorate”. Farham Fadzlishah was one of the first person who showed interest in Yuna. He later became her supporting guitarist. Efry Arwis helped her with the bass, Adib Afzar did the drums. After some time, Adil Alis replaced Adib Afzar after he quit to concentrate on his drumming role for Oh Chentaku.
On the 24th of January, Yuna’s single, “Live Your Life” had its debut on iTunes. Pharrell Williams produced the track. The song was described as “polished until it gleams but instead of burying Yuna, it lifts her up. The track has hints that a diva is waiting to shine” by MTV Iggy. A month later, the official music video for “Live Your Life” was released.
On the 24th of April 2012, Yuna’s United States debut self-titled album was released. Debuting at No. 23 on the Pop chart and No. 86 on the Top 100 Albums on iTunes, Yuna was likewise No. 23 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. Distinctions from critics and fans alike, such as Signboard, NPR, Elle, NY Times, Vibe Claire and National Geographic, who raves that her sound is “as fresh, deeply individual and honest as anything by Bon Iver or tUnEyArDs,” have been rolling in.

Yuna was the first runner-up of MTV Iggy’s Finest Brand-new Bands in the World. She performed at the historical MTV Studios in Times Square, New york city singing “Decorate”, “Come As You Are”, “Lullabies” which is produced by Chris Braide and her brand-new single “Live Your Life”, which is produced by Pharrell Williams of N.E.R.D.
In 2012, Yuna was identified with a National Youth Icon Award, granted by the then Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, for her remarkable accomplishments in arts.
She would then, go on to release “Nocturnal” (her second international album), “Chapters” (Released in May 2016),” Forevermore” (April 2019) a single called “broke her” in December 2014. She was also made Malaysia’s tourism advisor.
Yuna Zarai is currently married to Adam Sinclair. She also ventures into the directing scene. In April last year, she received the RIAA certification for her song “Crush” Yuna is currently working on her next album and will provide you with more news soon.
